Dry-ice Blasting - What is it?
Much like sand blasting, dry-ice blasting uses a pressurized
airstream to force tiny particles toward a surface. However, instead of sand,
CO2 is used. This method, unlike sand blasting, is non-abrasive, and will NOT
damage the surface being cleaned or prepped. There are several benefits to
using dry-ice over traditional mediums such as sand.
Dry-ice blasting:
- Is non-abrasive, non-flammable, and non-conductive
- Contains no secondary contaminants and is environmentally
friendly – minimal post project clean-up!
- Is approved for use in areas where food is produced
- Eliminates the need to disassemble parts - most items can be cleaned in place
- Can be used on electrical panels, without powering off
- Is pressure adjustable - can be gentle or rough
